   Continuing to Rally

The upper elementary volleyball teams are having great success. All students are showing great effort and the games have been fun and super close.  Remember, "we compete to improve, not prove!!"

The lower elementary are having fun working on striking skills. Here you can see  them playing " keep it up" with their partners.  These are some of the students from Mrs. Anderson's and  Mrs. Pilgrim's class. Enjoy!

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

Whether or not you like football, this Sunday many people will be tuning in to watch the Baltimore Ravens, and the San Fransico 49ers. The fifth graders have made their choices. Seventy-six percent think it will be the Ravens. Do you agree?  Enjoy the game, commercials, and food.

Moving in the New Year!

Happy 2013!  We are starting many new activities in January. Underhand throw, catch, ball striking will all be practiced during our volleyball unit. The lower elementary will work on the same skills and they will be concentrating on running and galloping this month.

          Vacation activity winners!

Brooke Adams was the activity winner, completing all seven activities listed in the last blog.  Caden Westrate was the drawing winner. He completed four of the activities. Congratulations on keeping active over the holidays!

                                                       READ AND SHARE WINNER

Keegan  O'Callaghan  shared an article about Michigan  men's basketball.  He said they have a pretty good team this year.  I hadn't noticed, thanks for sharing.

Here are pictures of  some of the basketball teams that worked together as teammates in December.  Keep on practicing those skills.

We started out the New Year with a challenging fitness lesson. All the students worked on aerobic fitness, strength exercises, and skill review.  Here is a view of some of the stations.

Quote of the day!

When asking a student who comes from a musical family if he went to a Christmas concert he replied, "  Yes, I went with with my cousins, they had a snack bar, it lasted like 12 hours."

I hope time flies for you this week, because everyone knows time flies when you exercise.  Until next time .
